Dodge Charger Picture Gallery
The Charger was introduced in 1966 as Dodge's entry into the muscle car war. It came standard with a 318 2-barrel, but could be ordered with the 383 4-barrel, or the 426 Hemi. The Charger was redesigned for 1968 and a R/T (Road/Track) performance option package was offered which included the 440 magnum. The 426 Hemi was optional. The 1968-70 version of the Dodge Charger is probably the most famous, as a ‘68 Charger was used in the famous car chase in the movie Bullitt, and a ‘69 Charger was the "General Lee" in The Dukes of Hazard TV show. The Charger was again restyled for 1971-74. In 2006, the Charger was re-introduced as a modern day muscle car and is currently available with the optional 5.1 Liter Hemi rated at 340-350 horsepower, or the 6.1 Liter SRT-8 Hemi rated at 425 hp.
